Synonymy: Trichinium corymbosum Gaudich. ex Ewart & O.B. Davies var. parviflorum Benth., Fl. Aust. 5:226 (1870); T. eremita S. Moore, J. Linn. Soc. (Bot.) 34:218 (1899).

Description:
Annual with stems to c. 0.4 m high, fewer-branched, stem-leaves to 2 x 0.3 cm.

Spikes ovoid to ellipsoid, c. 1-3.2 cm long, to c. 1.8 cm diam., fewer-flowered; perianth 7-8 mm long. The smaller flowers rendering the spikes always narrower than in var. gaudichaudii, the bracts appearing larger.
