Rhizome short or slow-creeping, scaly; fronds clustered, pinnate to decompound, herbaceous to coriaceous, glabrous or rarely hairy; veins free or anastomosing; sorus continuous along the margin or sometimes broken; indusium false, consisting of the recurved margin, opening inwards.
