Description:
Small more or less densely branched shrub, 0.3-1 m high; branches densely tomentose, at least some leaves clustered on short branches; leaves very sparsely hairy, especially medially and basally, to glabrescent, glandular; petiole absent; lamina linear-obovate to linear-oblong, 4-10 mm long, 0.6-1 mm wide, more or less flat, thick; base attenuate; margin entire; apex obtuse to rounded; venation not visible.

Pedicel 3-4 mm long, sparsely hairy to glabrescent; bracteoles inserted to 1 mm from the base of the calyx, oblong-linear to linear-ovate, c. 3 mm long, to c. 0.5 mm wide; calyx 7-12 mm long, glabrous, glandular; tube 5-7 mm long; lobes broadly triangular, 2-5 mm long, c. 5-7 mm wide; corolla 20-26 mm long; outer surface of the tube pink-red; inner surface pale-pink with a tinge of white or with pink-red blotches, inner surface of lobes white with dark-brown blotches or sometimes yellow-brown with pink spots; tube 12-15 mm long, with outer surface sparsely hairy distally, glabrous on the inner surface except for a few scattered glandular hairs distally; lobes sparsely hairy on the outer surface, glabrescent on the inner surface, lower median lobe oblong-obovate, c. 5 mm long, 2.5-3 mm wide; lateral lobes ovate to oblong-ovate, 3-4 mm long, 2-3 mm wide; upper median lobe-pair ovate-triangular, 7-9 mm long, 8-9 mm wide; stamens inserted c. 11 mm above the base of the corolla; filaments 8-10 mm long, glandular with stalked glands and broad triangular trichomes; anthers 1.5-2 mm long, one side of the connective basally extended to form a long slender appendage 1-2.5 mm long, with a few triangular trichomes present; pistil 25-28 mm long; ovary c. 1 mm long; style c. 25 mm long; stigma lobes c. 1 mm long.

Mericarps 2-2.5 mm long.

Distribution:  This species occurs on rocky rhyodacite derived soils with scattered shrubs of Acacia sowdenii, A. montana, Eremophila interstans, Melaleuca uncinata, desert spinifex (Triodia), Isopogon, Calytrix and ephemerals, especially on hills in rocky places towards ridge tops.
