Description:
Perennial, pubescent, sometimes glabrescent, stems short and procumbent or somewhat erect, to c. 10 cm long; leaves linear to linear-lanceolate, mucronate, often clustered, glabrous, c. 1 cm long; stipules sessile, acute, c. 6 mm long.
Flowers in a dense cyme leafy at the base; the floral bracts without midribs, as long as the inflorescence or longer; pedicels pubescent; sepals 2-3 mm long, white, slightly thickened and reddish at the base; petals about one-third of the sepals, free, obtuse; stamens usually shorter than the petals.
Capsule ovoid, opening by 3 valves, shorter than the sepals; seeds 15-20, c. 0.5 mm long, subreniform, rugose.
