Description:
Aromatic herbs with viscid glandular hairs; stems terete; leaves basal and cauline, sessile, alternate, entire.
Capitula terminal, pedunculate, solitary, large, homogamous; involucres narrowly conical; bracts multiseriate, unequal, free, imbricate, the outer ones herbaceous, the inner ones scarious; receptacle flat, naked, pitted; florets all tubular, bisexual, fertile, 5-merous; corolla narrowly cylindrical, with minute subacute lobes, shortly exceeding the involucre, yellow; anthers tailed at the base, with short apical appendages; style branches linear, subterete, with short dilated papillose apices.
Achenes subterete, fusiform, on short pedicels which persist on the receptacle, pubescent; pappus uniseriate, of free plumose bristles, persistent.
