Description:
Tuber small, whitish, c. 4 mm diam.; leaves 0.5-1.5cm long, terete, fleshy, acute; peduncle 1-3 cm long, white, fleshy; strobilus 4-8 mm long, sporophylls imbricate, ovate, acuminate; sporangia reniform.

This species is found during the winter and spring months on moist sandy or clay soils but is uncommon. It is often overlooked because of its small size.
