Petalostylis labicheoides

Citation: R. Br. in Sturt, Exped. Centr. Aust., Bot. App. 79 (1849).

Synonymy: Not Applicable

Common name: Butterfly bush, slender petaloslylis.

Description:
Erect shrub, 2-3 m high; stems often pruinose; tomentum of sparse minute appressed simple hairs; leaflets 5-15, lanceolate-elliptic, mucronate.

Flowers 1-5, in short racemes, each with a pair of linear bracts; sepals 5, acute; petals 5, obovate, shortly clawed, deep-yellow, 1 marked with red; style yellow, winged, petal-like.

Pod flat, obliquely oblong, elastically deshiscent; seeds 4-6, shining, mottled light- and dark-brown, with a small cap-like aril.
