Common name: Calomba daisy.
Description:
Usually annual to 60 cm high; stems erect, usually unbranched between the base and the inflorescence, striate, sparsely pubescent, becoming woody; leaves oblanceolate, 2-4 cm long, 1-2 cm wide, 2 or 3 times pinnatisect with acute ultimate lobes less than 1 mm wide, grey-green, pubescent with glandular and non-glandular hairs.
Capitula numerous in a dense compound corymb with leafy branches, 4-5 mm diam.; involucres cylindrical, c. 2 mm long; bracts 2-seriate, equal, oblong, greenish, scarious; florets exceeding the involucre, 4-merous, yellow.
Achenes asymmetrically cuneate, c. 2 mm long, ribbed and papillose on the inner face; pappus a scarious crown, irregular, c. 1 mm long, white.
