Description:
Perennial herbs and undershrubs, aromatic, glandular, with greyish indumentum; leaves cauline, alternate, numerous, dissected.
Capitula terminal, pedunculate, solitary or in corymbs, small, discoid, homogamous; involucres ovoid to hemispherical; bracts herbaceous to scarious, imbricate in 2 or 3 series; receptacle conical, naked, pitted; florets bisexual, fertile, tubular, 4- or 5-merous, numerous; corollas narrow below, campanulate above; anthers obtuse at the base with ovate apical appendages; style branches broadly linear, truncate with papillose apices.
Achenes compressed, asymmetrical, angular, ribbed; pappus of scales fused into a crown.
