Description:
Shrub c. 1 m high; stems woody, erect, branched, appressed-tomentose, without ribs; leaves sessile, obovate to oblanceolate, narrowed at the base, obtuse, 4-18 mm long, 2-4 mm wide, glabrous to tomentose above, densely tomentose below with a distinct mid-vein; margins entire, revolute.
Capitula solitary (rarely 2 or 3 together), terminal, sessile or almost so; involucre campanulate, 6-8 mm long; bracts 4-5-seriate, lanceolate, acute, tomentose near the apex; ray florets 8-20; ligules oblong to oblanceolate, 7-12 mm long, white; disk florets 8-25, yellow.
Achenes slightly flattened, 1.5-3 mm long, striate, sericeous to pubescent; pappus bristles 40-60, 5-7 mm long, subequal or with a few shorter ones in an outer series.
