Description:
Low glaucous glabrous shrub usually less than 60 cm high, with thick sessile obovate-cuneate or obcordate keeled leaves 5-10 mm long.
Flowers solitary, axillary, 6-7 mm long, shortly pedicellate; calyx shortly 5-toothed, much shorter than the 5 (sometimes 6) petals, which are united in the lower part by the flat adnate portion of the filaments; stamens 3, alternate with the petals; staminodes 3, opposite the petals, linear, bifid, bearded in the lower part; style 1; stigma 3-lobed; drupe globular, c. 10 mm diam.
