Description:
Perennial, tuberous rooted; stem usually 1, produced annually, terete, to c. 1 m tall, twining around vegetation or, in the absence of such support, trailing along the ground; branches many, unbranched, 3-5 cm long, terminating typically in 2 flowers, occasionally 1; leaves produced infrequently, in the absence of a stem, 1 or 2, radical, linear, terete, c. 10 cm long.
Bracts 2, c. 2 mm long, opposite, pedicels 3-4 mm long; perianth-segments 2-3.5 mm long, with a green midrib and white margins; outer 3 lanceolate, with narrow margins, mucronate; inner 3 obovate, with broad margins; stamens 6; anthers light- to dark-green, straight, equal in length to the filaments, dehiscing by full-length longitudinal slits.
Capsule cylindrical, perianth parts persisting, non-twisted, typically spreading from the base of the capsule.

Holotype: East of "C 50" kilometre peg on NW Coastal Highway, W. Aust., 17 Aug. 1984, N.H. Brittan 84 33 (PERTH). A Thysanotus patersonii R. Br. pedunculis longioribus, c. 3-5 cm longis, umbellis bi- vel unifloribus, floribus parvioribus, exfimbriatis, filamentis staminum perianthii adnatis, differt.
