Description:
Small slender annual, up to 2 cm high; stems erect; leaves oblong to linear, 3-4 mm long.
Flowers on slender pedicels, up to 10 mm long; calyx c. 2.5 mm long in the flower enlarging to c. 3 mm long in the fruit, shortly 2-lobed; corolla scarcely exceeding the calyx, lobes about half the length of the tube; stamens inserted on the tube at about the middle, included; ovary superior, shortly stipitate, with the calyx inserted below the ovary and the corolla attached to the ovary at about its middle; styles sometimes cohering in the bud, always quite free at and after anthesis, stigmatic ends dilated, not cohering.
