Common name: White tea-tree, desert paper-bark.
Description:
Shrub 2-8 m high with grey stems, glabrescent to densely appressed-hairy; leaves alternate, linear to narrowly oblanceolate, 1.5-5 cm long, c. 2 mm broad, mucronate, obscurely 3-nerved, sessile.
Flowers in 4-10 triads in dense terminal and axillary globular heads with the axis usually growing on; bracts deciduous, broadly ovate, c. 1.5 mm long, scarious; hypanthium cup-shaped, c. 1 mm long; sepals semicircular, c. 0.5 mm long; stamens in bundles of 4-8, yellow; claw c. 1 mm long; free parts of filaments 2.5-4.5 mm long, in 2 series.
Fruit smooth, tawny, 2-2.5 mm diam., truncate, slightly compressed in dense clusters mostly near the bases of woody branches.
