Description:
Rhizome short; roots fleshy; leaves obovate to spathulate, 1-5 cm long, 6-12 mm wide, shallowly dentate with 2-4 pairs of teeth, sparsely hispid to subglabrous.
Scapes axillary, filiform, 8-25 cm long, glabrous or very sparsely appressed-pubescent, with 0-2 minute scale leaves; involucres 3-4 mm diam. at flowering, to 6 mm diam. in fruit; bracts lanceolate, acute to obtuse, entire, glabrous; ray florets 2- or 3-seriate; ligules 1.5-2 mm long, white to purple.
Achenes sessile, oblanceolate, 2-3.5 mm long, with a beak to 0.5 mm long, glandular on the beak and adjacent margin only, often with nonglandular hairs at the base, brown.
