Lachenalia aloides

Citation: Hort., Notizbl. Bot. Gart. Berlin 2:321 (1899).

Synonymy: Phormium aloides L.f., Suppl. 205 (1782); L. tricolor Jacq. F., Nova Acta Helvet. 1:39 (1780-4).

Common name: None

Description:
Leaves usually 2, lanceolate or lorate, reddishspotted above, to 20 cm long and 2 cm broad.

Scapes usually less than 20 cm high, with often 10-15 flowers; pedicels to 5 mm long; flowers mostly pendulous; outer perianth orange all over or yellow above with a green tip, more or less cylindrical, about half as long as the inner; inner segments yellow or orange below with a red tip, 2-3 cm long; anthers and stigma at the mouth.

Conservation status: naturalised
