Juncus holoschoenus
Citation:

Synonymy: J. prismatocarpus sensu J. Black, Fl.S. Aust. 183 (1943), partly, non R.Br.
Common name: Joint-leaved rush.
Description:
Perennial; shortly rhizomatous; stems usually less than 45 cm high and 1.5-3 mm diam.; leaves on stem and basal, the sheath with 2 obtuse auricles at the summit, numerous, usually at least as long as the stem, terete or slightly compressed, 2-4 mm wide, hollow and distinctly and transversely septate.
Flowers light-coloured, usually 10-20 in clusters, forming a loose cymose particle much surpassing the small leafy bracts at its base, perianth-segments equal, 3-4 mm long, acuminate; stamens 6.
Capsule pale-coloured, acute, equal to or longer than the perianth.

Distribution:

Grows in damp grassland and along the edge of water.
S.Aust.: FR, EP, NL, MU, SL, SE. All States except the N.T. and Qld. New Zealand.
