Hordeum vulgare ssp. vulgare

Synonymy: H. hexastichon L., Sp. Pl.. 85 (1753); H. vulgare L. var. hexastichon (L.) Asch., Fl. Brand. 1:873 (1864).

Common name: Six-rowed barley.

Description:
Lateral spikelets fertile; spike with 6 rows of fertile spikelets.

Distribution:  occurs as an escape from cultivation in Australia.

Flowering time: April, May, Oct.

Biology: No text

Taxonomic notes: Á. Löve (1984) is followed in not regarding var. hexastichon as distinct infraspecifically from the typical form of H. vulgare.
