Description:
Perennial 40-70 cm high; corm c. 2 cm diam.; leaf solitary, near-basal, 60-100 cm long, 6-15 mm wide, lax, trailing; stem branched, with bracts 6-7 cm long.
Spathes 6-8 cm long, the outer bract half the inner; flowers golden-yellow, sometimes orange in the centre, unpleasantly scented; perianth-segments obovate, 3-4 cm long, 1.5-1.7 cm wide, spreading to form a broad shallow cup; filaments connate in a tube, c. 9 mm long, glabrous; anthers 5-8 mm long, free, divergent from the base; ovary 1.3-1.6 cm long; style branches 3, divergent, 6-7 mm long; stigmas broad, 2-lobed, above the anthers; style crests absent or vestigial and obtuse.
Capsules 2-4 cm long with an obtuse beak c. 1 mm long.
