stated by J. Black (1952) to occur in Vic., but not recorded by Willis (1972) Handbook to plants in Victoria. Several specimens, including some from the northern FR, appear to be somewhat intermediate between this variety and var. sericea and I am not certain that these varieties can be maintained as distinct. In the southern EP region this variety occurs in close geographical proximity to a very similar-looking form of H. aspera which can, however, be identified by the well-developed peduncles.
