Hibbertia exutiacies

Description:
Low almost glabrous branching procumbent shrub c. 30-50 cm high; leaves narrow-linear, tapering to a pungent deciduous mucro, with recurved margins such that only the broad midrib shows, scattered or clustered towards the ends of the branches, often spreading, 5-10 x up to 1 mm, glabrous or scabrous with minute scattered simple hairs above.
Flowers c. 8-10 mm across, sessile or subsessile; bracts at the base of the calyx several, lanceolate, ciliolate; sepals 5-6 mm long, glabrous; petals yellow, notched, longer or shorter than the sepals; stamens 4-8, on one side of the carpels.
Carpels 2, pubescent, usually with 4 ovules in each.

Biology:
The reflexed leaf margins and broad midrib resemble those of H. riparia. Because of variation in leaf apices these species are sometimes difficult to separate.
