Description:
Erect to decumbent perennial to 25 cm high; articles barrel-shaped, glaucous.

Spikes slender, cylindrical, to 6 cm long; flowers free; perianth more or less truncate; lobes more or less equal, the abaxial semi-orbicular and slightly overlapping the laterals.

Distribution:  Found on the margin of salt lakes.
