Synonymy: Dichoglottis australis Schldl., Linnaea 20:631 (1847); G. tubulosa sensu J. Black, Fl.S. Aust. 358 (1948).
Common name: Chalkwort, austral (or annual) chalkwort.
Description:
Erect to c. 20 cm high, with sticky glandular hairs; leaves terete, 5-25 mm long; flowers solitary, appearing axillary, on peduncles usually longer than the leaves; calyx campanulate, tubular, 4-5 mm long, with 5 green ribs terminating in short teeth; petals slightly longer, pink or red, notched at the summit; stamens 10; styles 2.
Capsule ovoid-oblong, about as long as the calyx; seeds minute, very dark-brown, granular, with a prominent radicle.
