Common name: Desert saw-sedge.
Description:
Slender plant, 10-30 cm high; leaves erect, straight, subulate, smooth, pungent-pointed, the brown sheaths woolly at the orifice.
Panicle slender; narrow, 4-12 cm long; spikelets not clustered, 3-4 mm long, 2-flowered; stamens 3.
Nut suboblong-obovoid, obtuse at both ends, 1.6-1.9 x c. 0.8 mm, trigonous with convex sides, straw-coloured, smooth, rather shiny.
