Description:
Stems slender, 30-80 cm high; leaves erect, filiform, smooth, with involute margins, nearly as long as the stem, with long fine hooked or curved not pungent points, the sheaths woolly at the orifice.

Panicle narrow, 15-40 cm long, interrupted; spikelets approximate but not clustered, c. 3.5 mm long, 2-flowered; lower glumes acuminate; stamens 3 or 4.

Nut narrow-obovoid, bluntly acute, gradually cuneate to an obtuse base, 1.8-2 x 0.8-1 mm, trigonous, with convex sides, green-brown to red-brown, glistening, very finely papillose in longitudinal rows.

Distribution:  S.Aust.: EP, NL, SL.   W.Aust.; Vic.

Conservation status: native

Flowering time: Fowers: throughout the year.
