Description:
Compact annual herb 2-4 cm high; vestiture non-glandular, of mixed cobwebby and short crisped hairs; stems erect, wiry, densely dichotomous-branched, pubescent; leaves mostly opposite, the lower ones narrowly oblanceolate to lanceolate, the upper ones ovate, all broad-based, acute, 2-6 mm long, 1-2 mm wide, entire, grey-green, pubescent, with a distinct midvein.
Capitula axillary and terminal, often in the forks of branches, sessile, globular, 2-3 mm diam., all heterogamous; involucre c. 2.5 mm long; bracts broad-ovate to ovate, acute, stramineous, scarious, sparsely cobwebby near the base, with ciliate to ciliolate hyaline margins; female florets 10-20; bisexual florets fewer, 4-merous, at least some fertile; corolla c. 1.7 mm long, slightly exceeding the involucre, white.
Achenes all similar, ovoid-cylindrical, c. 0.7 mm long, 5-ribbed, glabrous, shiny, brown; pappus absent.
