Description:
Annual herb to 12 cm high; stems several, ascending, rigid, branched, glabrous; leaves linear, obtuse, 5-11 mm long, c. 1 mm wide, subterete, glabrous.

Capitula c. 5 mm diam., greenish; involucral bracts oblong to oblanceolate, obtuse, 4-5 mm long, green, glabrous, minutely fringed at the apex; female florets 13-17.

Achenes narrowly obovate, slightly compressed, c. 2.5 mm long, 167 ribbed and appressed-pubescent below, terete and papillose above; pappus scales c. 20, free, linear, minutely serrulate, c. 3 mm long, straw-coloured; bisexual florets 3 or 4, 4- or 5-merous; abortive achene cylindrical; pappus of 1-3 linear scales, c. 2 mm long, connate at the base.

Distribution:  In mallee, woodland, shrubland and coastal vegetation.
