Description:
Prostrate densely glistening papillose perennial shrubs with opposite or clustered fleshy trigonous to terete exstipulate leaves.
Flowers solitary, terminal; perianth lobes 5, about the same length, free; stamens many; staminodes many, petaloid, pink; ovary inferior, 5-celled, with many parietal ovules; styles 5, as long as the petaloid staminodes.
Capsule opening when wet by 5 keeled valves which have membranous wings; parietal tubercle small or 0; seeds light-brown, fairly rough.
