Arborescent fern with fronds twice to thrice pinnate; pinnules coriaceous; sori marginal, c. 1 mm diam.

Whether or not this species ever occurred naturally in S.Aust. is still debatable; old records suggest that it did occur in a few scattered locations in the SL and SE regions; plants were probably removed to grow in gardens.
