Description:
Usually more robust, to 90 cm high.

Glumes 13-20 mm long, broad, with conspicuous chaffy margins; lemma broader, generally 4 sparse dorsal tufts in the upper whorl; central awn exceeding the lateral lobes by up to 10 mm.

Distribution:    W.Aust.; Vic.

Flowering time: Oct. — Feb.

Biology: This variety sometimes approaches D. caespirosa.
