Description:
Spikelets 2- or 3-flowered, the florets shorter than the glumes; glumes only of moderate width, tapering more or less gradually into the acute to acuminate tip, slightly boat-shaped; lemma less broadly turbinate, the body 3-4 mm long, the lateral lobes 3-4 mm long, narrowing evenly into an acute tip; palea rather broadly lanceolate-elliptic (broadest above the middle), narrower than in the typical variety, 1-1.5 mm wide.
