Cuphonotus andraeanus

Citation: E. Shaw, Contr. Gray Herb. 205:157 (1974).

Synonymy: Capsella andraeana F. Muell., Wing's South. Sci. Rec. 1(n.s.):49 (1885); Phlegmatospermum andraeanum (F. Muell.)O. Schulz, Bot. Jb. 66:93 (1933); Cuphonotus humistratus (F. Muell.)O. Schulz var. papillosus O. Schulz, Bot. Jb. 66:92 (1933).

Common name: Downy mother-of-misery.

Description:
Herb, erect to spreading, to 25 cm tall, pubescent with simple flattened terete or twisted hairs; leaves entire, linear to spathulate, to 3 cm long, almost succulent, reducing towards the apex.

Sepals 1-1.5 mm long; petals 1-1.5 mm long, white or pink or yellow.

Silicula suborbicular to broadly elliptic, 2.5-5 mm long, compressed, almost smooth; pedicels in fruit spreading to recurved, to 1 cm long; seeds elliptic, 1-1.5 mm long.
