Description:
Shrubs to 50 cm high, with spreading branches, each 4-12 mm diam. when with leaves, becoming rigid to somewhat woody; leaves 3.5-8 x 1-4.5 cm, usually mucronate; corolla tube 8-16 mm long.

Distribution:  S.Aust.: FR, EP, NL, MU, YP, SL, KI.   Native of the Cape Province of South Africa.

Flowering time: Too little material of the plant has been seen to confirm that the typical variety can be separated in Australia by its later flowering period, which is Nov. — Jan. in South Africa.
