Cotyledon orbiculata var. oblonga

Citation: DC., Prod. 3:396 (1828).

Synonymy: C. oblonga Haw., Syn. Pl. Succ. 106 (1812).

Common name: None

Description:
Robust shrubs rarely higher than 30 cm, with branches decumbent to suberect, 10-18 mm diam. when with leaves, rarely becoming woody; leaves 4-11 X 1-6.5 cm, with a small mucro but often absent, corolla tube 18-25 mm long.

Distribution:  S.Aust.: MU, SL, SE.   Native of the summer rainfall areas of southern Africa, but here widely cultivated and recorded as naturalised.

Flowering time: June — Sept.

Biology: Forms with green leaves or with red margins, or even with a thick bloom have been observed.
