Description:
Low to erect open or dense shrub, c. 1 x 1-2 m; grey-tomentose branches; petiole 2-6 mm long; lamina ovate to orbicular, 1-3 x 0.5-1.5 cm, glabrous above, subglabrous to tomentose below.

1 (rarely to 3) flowers pendulous on short branchlets; peduncle 3-7 mm long; calyx shallowly cup-shaped, truncate, 4-6 mm; corolla 1.5-3 cm long; tube greenish or pink-red with green or yellow tips; filaments of the stamens broadened at the base; anthers prominent, exserted one-quarter to one-half of the corolla length, yellow; ovary glabrous to tomentose.

Fruit 5-8 mm long, green; seeds 3-4 x 1-2 mm, brown-black; corolla deciduous.

Distribution:    W.Aust.

Flowering time: April — Aug.

Biology: Hybrids occur with C. pulchella.

Taxonomic notes: Detailed chemical and morphological evidence indicate that this taxon is more closely related to C. glabra. It is likely to be reduced to varietal status under this species.
