Citation: Heister ex Fabr., Enum. Meth. Pl. 160 (1759).

Derivation: Named in honour of Dr Hermann Conring, 1606-1681, an eminent academician at Helmstedt University.

Synonymy: Coringia C. Presl (1826) Fl. Sicula 1:79.

Description:
Annual herbs, glabrous.

Sepals erect, dimorphic; petals long-clawed; stamens 6; median glands absent.

Siliqua dehiscent, mid-vein distinct, beak present; seeds in 1 row per locule, scarcely mucous; cotyledons subconduplicate; radicle incumbent.

Distribution:  7 species from southern and central Europe to central Asia. 1 species established in Australia.
