Description:
Annual herb 5-30 cm high; stems erect or ascending, unbranched above the base, pale-brown, sparsely cobwebby; basal leaves narrowly oblanceolate, attenuate at the base, obtuse to acute, 1.5-4 cm long, 1-3 mm wide, dark-green and sparsely pubescent with crisped hairs on both surfaces; cauline leaves very narrowly elliptic to linear, acute, 0.4-4 cm long, 0.5-1.5 mm wide, decreasing in size up the stem.
Capitula 8-15 in a globose cluster 1.5-3 cm diam. terminating each stem; outer involucral bracts ovate, to 6 mm long, subhyaline, the lower part appressed, stramineous, the apex spreading, with a dark band at the junction; laminae of the inner bracts spreading, oblong, obtuse to subacute, 4-9 mm long, opaque, white or tinged pink: florets 15-20; corolla funnel-shaped, sub-glabrous, yellow with brownish lobes.
Achenes c. 2 mm long; pappus bristles 3-6, 2.5-3 mm long, slightly exceeding the corolla.
