Synonymy: C. murrayi J. Black, Trans. R. Soc. S. Aust. 47:367 (1923).

Description:
Leaves slightly recurved, the innermost one very short; lamina of the outer bract often longer than the head.

Each head containing 1 bisexual pseudanthium, exceptionally with a second pseudanthium lacking the stamen.

Distribution:  S.Aust.: EP, KI.   W.Aust.

Flowering time: Oct., Nov.

Biology: Known in this State only from the type collections; two disjunct populations from coastal W.Aust. are referred to the same subspecies, which may be a relic widely supplanted on the mainland by the more specialised subsp. cephaloformis.
