Description:
Leaves strongly recurved, the innermost one reduced to an obtuse hyaline sheath; lamina of the outer bract subequal to the head.
Each head containing 2, exceptionally 1, bisexual pseudanthia and 1 pseudanthium lacking the stamen.

In mallee and disturbed communities on sand and other infertile soils, also on the margins of clay pans and salt marshes.
