Description:
Woody shrubs or trees up to 3 m high, usually glabrous; leaves with petioles 3-8 mm long; blade lanceolate to almost elliptic, 30-70 x 20-35 mm, acuminate, rarely acute, with a cuneate base, with primary and secondary veins clearly visible, usually strongly undulate; stipules triangular, entire.

Inflorescence a delicate axillary thyrse with numerous flowers; calyx lobes scabrid mainly along the margins of the lobes.

Fruit 6-8 mm long, green turning black.

Distribution:    W.Aust.; N.T.; Qld.

Conservation status: native

Flowering time: May — Oct.

Taxonomic notes: Except for the size and shape of the leaves this species is very similar to C. latifolium and at times branches of both species were included in the same collection but no intermediates have been recorded.
