Caladenia filamentosa var. tentaculata

Citation: R. Rogers, Fl.S. Aust. 1:138 (1922).

Synonymy: C. tentaculata Tate, Trans. R. Soc. S. Aust. 12:30 (1889), nom. illegit.

Common name: Wispy spider-orchid.

Description:
Flowers cream-coloured or yellowish with reddish markings, labellum margins crenate.

Distribution:  Occurs singly or in small clumps in sandy often calcareous soils or in rocky places, in heathland, mallee or light scrub in areas receiving 250-600 mm annual rainfall.

Flowering time: July — Oct.

Biology: Intermediate forms occur in MU and FR with pink or crimson and white flowers. A putative hybrid has been reported with C. toxochila (FR).
