Common name: Limestone spider, western daddylong-legs.
Description:
Small, slender, hairy, 6-14 cm high; leaf very hairy, large for the size of the plant, linear-lanceolate, c. 6 cm long.
Flower solitary or rarely 2, cream-coloured with red veining, perianth-segments suddenly contracted into coarse cylindrical glandular filaments; dorsal sepal c. 2 cm long, one-third of which is dilated; lateral sepals less than 2 cm long, one-half of which is dilated; petals gradually contracted into filaments; labellum ovate, c. 7 mm long and c. 5 mm wide, on a short movable claw; margins very shortly and bluntly serrate, lamina conspicuously redveined; calli club-shaped, in 2 well defined rows, extending to within 3 mm of the tip; column c. 8 mm long, erect then incurved, widely winged in the upper third; anther without a point.

Occurs singly or in small clumps in calcareous sands or in leaf litter on limestone and chiefly coastal.

Biology:
A self-pollinating species, some (cleistogamous) forms have flowers which never open. Very similar to small forms of C. filamentosa.
