Inflorescence an umbel; perianth-segments 6, free, spreading, caducous; stamens 6, with extrorse anthers; ovary 3-celled, with numerous ovules in each cell; style cleft into 3 recurved branches.

Capsule triquctrous, opening septicidally at the summit in 3 valves; seeds many, angular.
