Description:
Perennial herb to 8 cm high, compact, semisucculent; stems procumbent, densely branched, microscopically glandular, woody near the base, with persistent leaf bases; leaves all cauline, sessile, spathulate to obovate, shallowly obtuse-lobed to crenate, rarely entire, subamplexicaul at the base, 1-3 cm long, 4-10 mm wide, fleshy, subglabrous, obscurely veined.
Peduncles robust, leafless, minutely glandular, 1-7 cm long; receptacle hemispherical, c. 2.5 mm diam.; involucral bracts 18-30, elliptic to obovate, acute to obtuse, 3-4 mm long, entire, green, microscopically glandular; ray florets 25-35; ligules linear, c. 5 mm long, white to pale-pink; anthers without terminal appendages.
Achenes broadly obovate, flattened, 1.5-2 mm long, black; margins broad, wingless, entire to shallowly lobed; faces smooth, minutely pubescent; pappus a ring of microscopic teeth.
