Description:
Annual or perennial herb to 40 cm high; stems erect or ascending, branched, glabrous; basal leaves entire and linear to narrowly oblanceolate or pinnatisect, 2-7 cm long, glabrous; cauline leaves entire or pinnatisect with linear segments, 2-10 cm long, glabrous to sparsely glandular-pubescent.
Peduncles filiform, 5-22 cm long, glabrous to glandular-pubescent, with 1-3 reduced leaves near the base; receptacle hemispherical, 2.5-3 mm diam.; involucral bracts 18-22, oblanceolate, obtuse, 2-3.5 mm long, glabrous to minutely pubescent, green, with torn-ciliate apices; ray florets 40-80; ligules linear, 3-5 mm long, white to lilac; anthers without terminal appendages.
Achenes cuneate, flattened, 1.5-2 mm long, dark-brown; margins smooth, pale, wingless; faces smooth, glabrous or slightly pubescent; pappus reduced to microscopic papillae.
