Avellinia michelii

Citation: Parl., Pl. Nov. 61 (1842).

Synonymy: Bromus michelii Savi, Bot. Etrusc. 1:78 (1808); Koeleria michelii (Savi) Cosson, Expl. Scient. Algér.(Bol.) vol. 2, liv. 16:120 (1855).

Common name: Avellinia.

Description:
Small slender annual, 5-30 cm high; leaves pubescent, to 5 cm long.

Panicle narrow, to 10 cm long; spikelets c. 5 mm long; first glume 1-1.5 mm long, second 4-5 mm long; lemmas c. 4 mm long; awn c. 2 mm long.

Distribution:    W.Aust.; Vic.   Native to the Mediterranean.

Conservation status: naturalised

Flowering time: Sept. — Nov.
