Citation: L., Sp. Pl. 1080 (1753).

Synonymy: Not Applicable

Common name: Common spleenwort.

Description:
Rhizome short; fronds densely clustered, narrow-linear, erect or spreading, brittle; stipe and rhachis a deep purplish black; pinnae small, oblong to suborbicular; sori oblong, often coalescing when old and covering most of the undersurface.

Distribution:  In S.Aust. commonly grows in crevices of limestone outcrops.

S.Aust.: EP, YP, SE.   N.S.W.; Vic.; Tas.   New Zealand. Occurs in temperate parts of the world.

Conservation status: native
